Dear Diary...
I just started my very own shortfilm: "Forget-me-not". As you are always really interested in my work I'll let you know what I've done so far and keep you up to date! You know, when doing a shortfilm, it's all about the story. You don't know the story? Well, here it is:

An old storywriter falls into depression after his wife dies. The characters he created in his stories, which are interacting in reality, are trying to bring him back to life. The more the storywriter ignores his imaginary characters, the more invisible they get, until the old man finds one of his books. As soon as he starts remembering his characters, they get back their visibility. The old man realises that if the writes about his dead wife, she will life forever in his memories.

Sounds good, right? And as I have really good people collaborating with me, I think this will be a wonderful film!

Design work part 1

Dear Diary...
Thank you Pixar, I looooove your films. But as everyone tries to be as close to your design as possible, I want it different. I want bright colours, I want textures, I want it look like a painting.
I want the art back in animation!

Here is the colour sheme I want to use for the good mood/sad mood.

Lisa is doing the "Look of the Film". I know she loves this job. Put the mouse aside and start using proper colour! Can you remember how to use paint without Photoshop?

Thank you Helen for your wonderful drawings. They look perfect. They look like "Can I live there please?"
I know, its "just the first sketch", but they are great. If you already love the first sketch, how good will the final be? AMAZING!!

Where to start?

Dear Diary...
Let me explain my film first.
Can you imagine a wonderful nature, a funny looking, charming house? A storywriter and his created characters. The characters are translucent. Elves, dragons, dwarfs, well, they are imaginations. He interacts with them. He loves his life until his wife dies. She was a really important part of the old mans life. He falls into depression, sitting at the table, catatonic, doing nothing. A little character tries to bring him back, but he ignores him. Seasons change, it's getting colder and colder. The more the old man forgets his characters, loses his phantasy, the more invisible his they get. They are almost completely gone when he finds one of his books. As he has a quick look inside, and as he starts remembering them, the little dragon is getting back his visibility. The old man realises that if you write about something, it will come back into your memory. He runs into his study, starts writing about his wife. Nothing. He tries harder and harder, another page and another. Nothing. He is hopless. He takes his wifes favorite teacup and remembers all the good times. Suddenly she appears, half translucent. She puts away the pen and paper, you don't have to write about me, just remember!
